How to get NAT Type Open when using phone as hotspot

Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that your console's NAT type is affecting your ability to use multiplayer features due to a Teredo IP address error. The Teredo IP address allows the console to connect to Xbox Live and use multiplayer
features. There is minimal troubleshooting that can be done when a cell phone is being used as a hot spot. The reason for this is due to the fact that we normally need to log in to your home network's router settings in order to resolve the issue.

You can try turning off the hotspot, restarting your mobile device and attempting to connect to the network again. We have as support article on our website that provides troubleshooting for the

Teredo IP address error message. Although, most of these troubleshooting steps will not be usable since you are using a hotspot. If your data is throttled by your provider, that could affect your console's connection as well. Be sure to let us know the

When you use your phone as a hotspot, you cannot have an open NAT for 2 reason:

1) ISP don't give you Public IP, you are connected to internet trough a Gateway

2) not only you don't have a public IP, but ypou cannot open and forward specific port and protocol to Xbox One

The NAT type is open but I don’t believe that is the issue as when I’m connected to the hotspot the NAT type is also open

Hi Derek when I did the NAT Test it said the NAT Type is open right now .

I also did the cell phone hotspot and played a multiplayer quick round and it is still doing the same thing

I believe that the phone providers do not support UpNp and thus you will not be able to update it to change your NAT type when using your phone's connection as a hotspot connection.
