How to get my Gaming services to download?

When I open my Xbox app on my PC (windows 10) it states that my game services need to be downloaded, so I click download, and it does nothing. Says installing game services, this may take a minute. Then does absolutely nothing. I have also run the gaming services repair tool, (Gaming Services Repair Tool for PC (Beta) | Xbox Support) but it doesn't progress past "repairing gaming services, this may take a while..." any ideas how to fix this? I cannot download games on Xbox app. It shows that I have no games installed, but I did before it messed up. I have tried to uninstall the Xbox app and reinstall, and still nothing.

I have no idea how to solve this. Any help is appreciated!

I can see you must be very frustrated with all this.

These instructions are meant to get gaming services reinstalled on Windows 10/11:

1. Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

2. In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter: get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

3. In the same window, type the following command and press Enter: start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

4. Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

5. Restart your device and try to install the game again.

I've been getting a pop-up when opening Minecraft which prompts me to download Microsoft Gaming Services which I will absolutely not download so anyway is there a get around with Microsoft Gaming Services? and if so how do I do it

Why wont you download the necessary update to play Minecraft?

Also, looking down the list of comments, you have two choices, install Microsoft Gaming Services and play Minecraft, or don't install it and don't play Minecraft.....................your choice.

Scroll to the right of your dash to "account",then download history & you should be able to re download your games from there.You might have to perform a license transfer as well

2.Go to Settings and select Account.

3.Go to Your Billing Options and select Licence Transfer.

4.Follow the instructions to transfer the content licences
