How to Get Involved in the Xbox Community

The Xbox Community helps millions of people every year do more with their Xbox products and services. From asking questions, providing answers, and everything in between, the community has a place for everyone.



If you’re passionate about Xbox products and services and want to help others, there are two different opportunities that can help you get the most out of your time in the community.

• Volunteer to help better the community by moderating and answering questions
  
• Become a paid freelancer and answer community questions from a queue
  

Which Opportunity is Right for Me?

Both the volunteer and paid opportunities welcome people with diverse technical backgrounds and skills in one or more Xbox products. Some of the most active contributors in the community even participate in both opportunities.

Volunteer Opportunity

The Volunteer Moderator program includes the most engaged members of the community and gives them extra platform tools and inside information to help them share their knowledge and shape the community.



Volunteer Moderators:

• Like helping people and answering questions
  
• Have a personal relationship with the Xbox Community Team
  
• Receive information about platform and product updates, when available
  
• Help moderate and manage Code of Conduct abuse in the forums
  
• May use their contributions toward an MVP nomination or award
  

How to become a Volunteer Moderator

Paid Opportunity

Xbox partners with third-party service providers to match technical freelancers, called Independent Advisors, with questions in the community through a convenient app. Independent Advisors are members of the third party’s network and are paid by the service provider for each question they help solve.



Independent Advisors:

• Can earn cash rewards for providing answers
  
• Get notified on their smartphone or other devices when questions need answers
  
• Receive information about product updates, when available
