How to get an old account back with no password or gmail?

Sorry to say, but you're not going to be able to recover your account with just your Gamertag. Can you imagine how abused any service that allowed looking up someone's e-mail address based on their Gamertag would be? The level of spam, harassment and vitriol some members of our community would, unfortunately, deliver would be astounding.

If you know a phone number or Skype username associated with the account you can try the recovery process at https://account.live.com/acsr otherwise I'm not sure what your options are.

let me break it down...

The old xbox was given away, so the user wants to recover their account/gamertag on their new xbox.

They used their Gmail address to sign in to the new xbox as the old email/pwd would not let them sign in saying it was associated with another xbox ...

So they've signed in using the gmail account and downloaded their gamertag, they want to make sure the user of the old xbox cannot sign onto their account, how can they do this?

When they try to put a password in place it says their microsoft account password isnt required when they sign in on 4 other consoles... how can they continue to use their gamertag and block it from being used on the old xbox?

Thanks but my contact preferences are already set to my hotmail account, the problem is that I still get some notifications sent to my old gmail account.

I no longer want my gmail account associated with my xbox live account and I can't see how to remove it.
