How to get 360 games from the game store using the Xbox one

Hi all! This is my first post. I'm new to this forum and Xbox. I haven't had a game system in about 15 years or more. (Yeah, I'm old school from the first Nintendo and Sega days... lol) I bought an Xbox one about 2 weeks ago and have it figured out for
the most part.

My issue though, is I want some of the arcade games like "Sonic the Hedgehog", "Centipede", and "R-type". They are on the backwards compatibility list and they are also in the store when I go to the store with my Xbox one. But there is no way to purchase
them. When I click on them they say "Bundle Only" with no option to purchase or download. All the backwards compatible games that I've looked at do this.

How can I get these games?

Now that MS have move the xbox store to the MS store. I have thousands of dlc and xbox games. I'm not search through my 360 history just to find one game its going to take me ages. so how do I download deleted 360 games without using my xbox 360?

Hello I have buy the Game Risk with the XBox 360 and now I have the XBox One. But I can't download the Game without to Pay again.

How can I get this Game from the Store for the XBox One?

There is only two ways to buy 360 games

One with a 360 console not an one since they are completely different marketplaces

2nd the 360 Webmarketplace

 

Ok, thanks for your reply. It is much appreciated. The 360 console is not an option for me. I went to the 360 Marketplace and even there I can't download to my Xbox one (I actually tried this previously also). Downloading to an Xbox 360 is still my only
choice. I've spent hours on this. I'm so disappointed right now. I'm sooo fed up with this. I should have got a PS4. What's the point of being able to play backwards compatible games if you can't get them anyway... another idiotic Microsoft thing.. liars

That is your only choice you click that and it goes thru

 

You click downloaded to your 360 and it still download to the one

Unlezs it's one of the rare ones that checks for the console itself

It would say please download using your console to ensure compatibility

 

I have concluded that the Xbox one is about the biggest [Mod Removed] ever made. So is the Xbox website. I've been using computers since before windows was invented (that's for real), and I still program and write web pages to this day,
and their Xbox website is one of the biggest piles of crap I've ever used, but we all know that's typical of Microsoft. Extremely hard to navigate.

I went to the game store with my Xbox and the option to download backwards compatible games isn't there, even though the games are listed. But on my computer it was so I paid for Sonic, clicked "Download to Xbox 360" like was suggested... all I got was a
debit from my bank... no game... and when reading the purchase details, it says there are no refunds for digital downloads... What a joke. Is Microsoft really so stupid they would download to a 360 when they know my device is an Xbox one... oh yeah, they
are. I will be giving very bad reviews for this system every chance I get...

There all available if you don't have a 360 on the top of the page type in the name of the game you want (in the search bar) then click search. on the next page under filter click on games and then select your game you can purchase it from there if you do
purchase the game it will download to you home xbox.

Currently only available on xbox.com

 

If you go all the way to the right in My Games and Apps the game you paid for should show up as ready to download to the Xbox One. It doesn't just show up on the Xbox One.

Since you are so computer savvy, maybe you should read some of the articles associated with Backwards Compatibility and understand the process and how it works in regards to the 2 stores. You will be a lot less frustrated going forward.

You realize this is still in it's infancy and barely a month since the rollout to the general public? The 2 stores have never "talked" to each other they have always been separate parts of the Xbox infrastructure. The digital download has no idea what device
the data is being downloaded to. Expecting one to work like the other and vice versa is a non realistic expectation at this point in time.

 

Ok, I did find it. I tried to follow what everyone said, but thank you Jayadub for explaining it in steps after I bought it, and the ones that explained to just download it. Between the two, it is working now I think. It is downloading now. But have no
doubt, I appreciate everyone that replied to my post. I spent hours on this and man I was really mad and I'm sorry for venting. Microsoft has always made every update or new thing hard to follow. It's like you have to learn computers all over again every
year. I am tired of relearning everything year after year. If you are young, you will figure that out, if you are older, you already know that...lol... Ok, well it was a hard process, but now I know what I have to do to get a backwards compatible game (what
a huge learning curve). I couldn't have done it though without your help. It is done downloading now and working. Thank you all very much! I wish it didn't have to be so difficult, but I'm a happier now..

 

Please forgive my ignorance,but i also am suffering from this problem.Can some one please in layman's terms,list the appropriate way to get lets say sonic cd,and play it on the xbox one console.Once again my apologies,but i two am baffled.Thanks

 

I too am baffled by this. Clicked on marketplace, "bought" it for free from the page, says it'll download to my 360 (which I don't have). Nothing it showing "ready to install" on the Xbox One.
