How to fully uninstall Minecraft and redownload it?

Thank you for the update. If you'll play Bedrock, you will have to use the launcher from Microsoft Store. Go to Microsoft Store or Xbox App, search and install Minecraft launcher.

unfortunately minecraft bedrock still won't run. i just looked in my folder for xbox games and there is no folder for bedrock. there are folders for both dungeons and java edition though.

Going back over the 'detection history' my antivirus uses, i have found that it has removed the executable file for the game. all of the files have a lock in the top right corner, are they supposed to? (different folder from the one in the first sentence)

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you want to reinstall Minecraft. Please follow my recommendations below.

1. Delete the Minecraft launcher that exists on your computer.

2. Restart your computer.

3. Install legacy Minecraft launcher for Windows.

Once reinstalled, continue with these instructions.

1. Open Minecraft launcher.

2. If you are already logged in, click on your image and Gamer tag in the upper left corner of the screen and then on "Logout".

3. After logging out, delete all accounts registered in the launcher by clicking on the "X" next to each account.

4. In the Minecraft launcher, enter the Microsoft email and password.

If you bought Minecraft from Microsoft Store, you have to go to Microsoft Store>My Library then look for Minecraft and install.

Make sure you're signed into the Store app with the same Microsoft account that you used to buy the game.

If the above steps did not work, please clear the cache of the Microsoft store. Go to Settings> System> Apps & features> Click Store> Advanced options> Reset.

After the reset, log in with the Microsoft account that has Minecraft and reinstall Launcher.

I would guess the game bit I really don't know.

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Redownloading your profile. Check to make sure your Xbox is fully updated.

Is your Minecraft a digital download or a disc?

And do you have the game on an external hard drive?

I don't have another device to do this with. But I have been told that uninstalling and reinstalling the game could work. Could this work? And if yes, how would I save the data I want to keep if I delete and redownload minecraft?
