  1. How to format a 2 TB usb thumb drive?

I have formatted a USB device to NTFS, but when I plug it to the console, it does not allow me to format it so I can store my games on it. Instead, I only see "view content" and to "set as capture location". I can not use it to move my games.

Anybody able to help with it?

    :)

How to format a 2 TB usb thumb drive?

Hello Jose! I'm Kris and I'd be happy to help you with your question.

If its only allowing you to store media on it then it sounds like its not compatible to store games on. I would suggest using a portal HD to store games. On my Xbox One, I use a WD Passport 4TB drive. It must be USB 3.0.

    Hi,

Flash drives aren't fast enough for Xbox game storage. You need a hard drive for Xbox One, or the storage card for Series X|S consoles

In addition to this, I highly doubt you have a '2TB' thumb drive. How much did you pay for such a drive?

A real 2TB thumb drive would be at least $250 -$350

If you didn't pay such a high price for it you,'ve got a fake. The on-board controller has been modified to show 2TB when in reality it's likely to be only 32GB or less.

3TB hard drive for media won't format

    Hello,

Captain WD is correct : the 360 will only take an external hard drive up to 2 TB. The xbox One can take larger like a 4 TB. I would say the drive is too large to use. Though the system used to accept larger drives and use what it wanted. Now it doesn't.

    XBOX says:

'You can use other USB flash drives to store up to 2 TB of content. Configure these flash drives as memory units to work with the Xbox 360. To learn more -

    '

With the new settings on the 360 you can format the drive on a computer then use it on the console. The question is does the console recognise the drive? Try formatting it on a computer first then connect it. If possible format it to a 2TB size (shame
I know) then try again or get another drive.

    Good luck & happy gaming
