How to fix Xbox Series X controller desync issue?

Amanda, in view of the steps you have already taken, have you additionally verified that this driver is updated with the latest firmware?

To perform the update or verify if your controller has the latest firmware loaded, you must comply with the following procedure:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, choose System> Settings> Devices and streaming> Accessories, and select the control you want to update.

2. Select Device Information, choose the Firmware Version box and then select Continue.

I also have to ask you something, is your console connected directly to the wall outlet or do you use an additional cable, extension cord or power strip?

Same problem here. Im on series X. It seems to be a controller issue with that particular game. I used a xbox one x controller and it worked perfect. Its been doing this to me since day one of Vanguard. But it doesnt do it on other games. Hope you get it fixed! I know how aggravating it is.

Thank you for the response but my controller is completely up to date. It actually just happened for the first time again with the xbox one x controller I was using. I think it's built in to the xbox series x/one x/one to stop recording if the controller is disconnected which causes this issue and makes the footage unusable. Not sure if you have a fix for that in particular but if not it seems it will continue to be an issue.

I have had the exact same issue with several series X controllers. I love the feel and shape of these controllers but the face button issue has me buying 3rd party controllers until this gets fixed.
