How to fix Xbox gamepass not loading up

Based on the description, you having issue launching the Xbox Game Pass in your device. Let us check and see on what we can do to help us resolve your concern in a timely manner.



We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. Are you getting an error message or error code?

2. What is the version of Windows you are using? To check, press Windows key + R and type winver then hit OK.

3. Are you trying to install game through the Xbox Game Pass library?

4. If you are trying to install games, how about installing through Microsoft store?

For the meantime, please perform the steps provided below:

1. Make sure Windows is up to date

• Press the Start button on the taskbar, type settings, and then select Settings.
  
• On Windows 10, select Update & Security. On Windows 11, select Windows Update.
  
• On the Windows Update page, select Check for updates to see if any updates are available including optional updates for your device.
  
• Once the updates have downloaded, select Install now to start the installation.
  
• Following installation, we recommend that you restart your device so that the latest updates can take effect.
  

2. Make sure both the Xbox and Gaming Services apps are up to date

• Press the Start button on the taskbar, type store, and open the Microsoft Store app.
  
• Select Library.
  
• Under Updates & downloads, check if there are any updates available for the Xbox app or Gaming Services app. If an update is available, select Update.
  

3. Make sure you are signed in to the Xbox app and the Store with the same account.

> To make sure your permissions for the game can be validated, be sure to sign in to both the Store and the Xbox app using the same account that was used to purchase the game.

4. Uninstall and reinstall Gaming Services

• Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.
  
• In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:
  get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
  
• In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:
  start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN
  
• Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
  
• Restart your device and try to install the game again.

Hello Damien, would it be a normal Xbox One S/X or the new generation Series S/X?

If it's the new generation, try to remove any game that is in the quick resume and then do the procedures below.

This reset will not delete your games and apps.

Cache Xbox One

The first is a cache cleanup:

1. Go to xbox press and hold the XBOX power button on your console for 10 seconds until it turns off

2. Wait 10 seconds for it to turn off

3. Wait 1 minute with it off

4. Turn it back on

Xbox One reset keeping Games:

Press the Xbox button to open the panel.

Select system > Settings > System > Console Information

Select Reset console.

Restore and maintain my games and apps.

Rest assured, you won't miss games or saves

Note: You need to know the email and passwords of your accounts when performing this reset.

Nba 2k 15 will say loading game updates and it never loads then I try signing out of Xbox live and it comes up and says loading shoe data then freezes. I have no clue how to fix it. What should i do??

Jewel7459, it sounds like Game Pass sharing is working for downloading and launching Game Pass games, but you're getting blocked from online multiplayer unless you're signed in to your mom’s account. That usually means the console setup is almost right — just one detail might be off.

Here’s how to check and fix it:

1. Make sure your mom’s account has Game Pass Ultimate active

Have her sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/services

Confirm that Game Pass Ultimate is active and not expired

2. Confirm the Xbox is set as her Home console

Sign in on your Xbox using her account

Go to Settings > General > Personalization > My home Xbox

Make sure the console says "This is your home Xbox."

If not, select “Make this my home Xbox.”

Game Pass benefits and online play will only be shared with other profiles if the subscription holder sets that console as their Home Xbox

3. Sign into your own account and try again

Once the Home Xbox is correctly set, her account doesn’t need to be signed in

You should be able to play Game Pass games and access multiplayer from your own profile

If you’ve already done all of that and it’s still requiring her account to stay signed in, try restarting the console after setting it as the Home Xbox. That sometimes helps apply the sharing changes properly.
