How to fix wireless controller randomly disconnecting on only one game

The issue you're reporting is indeed strange, especially if it only happens with that game. If it occurs randomly, and since it persists even with a new official Xbox controller, I would recommend resetting your console. Of course, it could be a potential solution.

Personally, as a first step, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Additionally, you can try doing a complete power cycle.

To do it.

Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for at least 10 seconds.
Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

The last procedure I recommend is to delete local data and resynchronize with the cloud.

To delete the local save:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide and then select My games & apps > See all > Games.
Highlight the game title, and then press the Menu button on your controller.
Select Manage game and add-ons > Saved data.

Select Delete all to remove the local save of this game, then follow the prompts.
Restart you Xbox.

A big tip would be to install it offline and install updates later, online. (shown on that page, how)

Solution: Its the wireless. No matter how good the connection is, you will randomly disconnect like every hour. That is because the wireless sometimes losses contact with your xbox only for a split second causing you to disconnect. Use a ethernet cable,
you will not disconnect.

I got 2 of the xsx controllers.. they used to disconnect randomly on the xsx.. but it seems like its fixed now. on win10 some games are basically unplayable.. randomly flashes and disconnects.. the older xbox one controllers have no problems at all. does microsoft know of this problem.. it should be pretty widespread.

Does you controller disconnect as well?

I have the same problem, whenever I am using an online connection for a game, my wireless connections just randomly drops, could be as quick as 1 minute or as long as 45 minutes. Also my controller disconnects along with my wireless connection.
