    How to fix update not downloading?


    This has happened to three game updates in 2 days now. I try and update a game it starts going and seems fine then a bit into it the update pauses and won’t resume. I’ve tried resetting my Xbox regularly and I’ve tried unplugging the power cord. WiFi is working fine and the connection with the Xbox is fine and my Xbox is completly up to date( I have a series X btw). Only thing that works is to cancel and uninstall the game and then reinstall it. It’s a real pain in the butt because so far all 3 games it’s happened to are 60+ GB so they take a while to reinstall. Any other possible solutions to this?

    Kindly try to do these steps and check if it will fix the issue. Thanks!

    Let's try to enable the QoS tagging on this console.

    Please go to Settings and select General > Network settings > Advanced settings > QoS tagging settings

    Enable both the DSCP and WMM tagging

    Reboot the console

    Then press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

    Unplug everything from the back of your Xbox.

    Wait 3 minutes, and then plug the power cord and HDMI back in.

    Then, please check if that fixes the issue. Thank you!

    Have you tried to reset the console this way?

    IMPORTANT: Make sure to remember the email and password for the account before taking these steps.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info > Reset console.

    Select "Reset and keep my games & apps

    Is the console itself fully updated? If not been on for a year I would imagine the xbox has several updates to do first?

    If your system hasn't been used in a year or so, I would say that it is possible that there could be dust buildup causing issues with the fan. Have you checked out the vents on the sides of your system to see if they need to be cleaned out?
