How to fix this problem with two Xbox profiles and only one email

I created the Xbox account with the name KingMonkee95, which is what I still use on Xbox to this day, the gamer tag that’s being used on the app and on my Microsoft account this one that calls me boba fett, shanetgaming208 or something like that. My question is why would it create a new gamer tag and Xbox account if one already existed under my email. Thank you for your response

Hello again, you don't need to create a new account what's weird is that it has two separate Gamertags in just one email.

In this case the ideal would be to contact Xbox support via chat, because they have access to your account data and can check exactly what is happening.

Hello Boba, you say you created an account in 2019, that account had already been logged into an Xbox or microsoft site, because when that happens it creates a Gamertag for that email account, i.e. your Gametag and Microsof account are one.

You can't delete a Gamertag without deleting the email, whenever you want to create an account to use on Xbox, you'll first create the email, and when you log on to xbox or xbox website, you'll be created and associated with a Gamertag for that profile.

How are you saying that you have two profiles under one email? This would not be possible as you are only able to register one Xbox profile per Microsoft account. Please explain how you use two different accounts under one email, is there two separate gamertags
for you and one for them?

Unfortunately you are unable to move the Gamertag from one Microsoft account to another either. The only way to actually update the email address would be to

Update the Primary Alias on the account as CIDkidzPILLZ has mentioned above.

I have this same problem. Two people have suggested switching gamer profiles somehow fixes it, but I only have one gamer profile with xbox live capabilities, so I can't attest to whether or not it works.
