    How to fix "this pc doesnt meet the requirements for recording clips"


    My pc:

    32gb ddr4

    500gig main m.2 ssd

    rtx 4060ti

    Intel I5 12400kf

    I've already tried everything people have suggested and none of it worked:

    Method 1

    1. Click Windows Button
    2. Search Device Manager
    3. Click Device Manager
    4. Click Display Adapters
    5. Right-Click on Your Graphics Device
    6. Click Update Driver
    7. Click Search automatically for drivers
    8. Click Close
    9. Close Device Manager
    10. If Not Working You Can Also Manually Update Your Graphics Drivers

    Method 2

    1. Search Regedit
    2. Click Registry Editor
    3. Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    4. Open SYSTEM
    5. Open CurrentControlSet
    6. Click Control
    7. Check if You Have PortableOperatingSystem
    8. If You Don't Have Right-Click & Create New DWORD (32 bit) Value
    & Rename it to PortableOperatingSystem
    9. Double-Click on PortableOperatingSystem
    10. Set Value Data To 0
    11. Click the OK Button
    12. Close Registry Editor
    13. Done!

    PS: theres no XBOX product window idk why

    Sorry, should have said. In the settings under Game DVR it says "This PC is unable to record clips" and when I open the game bar, the record button is grey and when I click it, it says "Sorry, this PC does not meet the hardware requirements for recording
    clips." I doubt it's my laptop seeing as I have an i7 3630QM, 6GB RAM and the graphic card in my OP.

    that cpu is just a mobile dual core, the intel quick sync is not the newer revisions that support the latest features, basically that chip is way out dated and not powerful enough for encoding.
    how do i update the chip?

    I was thinking of the Desktop version, I stand corrected. As for updating it, it's not possible, it's a hardware limitation.

    Hi,

    While the Intel Core i3 3360m does indeed support quick sync video, your laptop's AMD Radeon 7570m does not support video encoding. If a game is using the 7570m it can't record video as all video encoding is done on the graphics processor in use, not the CPU's integrated GPU.

    A possible work around would be to change what Windows uses as the default graphics processor for the game.

    • From the Windows Search Icon, type "Graphics Settings". Click the results from System Settings.
    • If your game is not from the Windows Store Click Desktop App. If it's from something like the Windows Store or the Xbox App, Choose 'Windows Store App'
    • Click your application.
    • Once identified, click Options.
    • Set the application to your preferred GPU.
    • Click save.

    The problem here though will be that your game will no longer run on the dedicated graphics processor, it will instead run on the iGPU of your Core i3 3360m (in the form of the Intel HD Graphics 4000) which will be a lot worse performance and recording will only worsen such performance.

    Depending on your game, it may not actually be possible to play certain games via the Intel HD Graphics 4000.
