How to fix sticky thumbsticks without liquids or opening your controller

if you are getting a bit of resistance when you pull down on the triggers as if they are sticky i know how to fix it permanently without oppening the controller

The sticky feeling is caused by the buffing rubber sponge that stops the trigger hitting up against plastic

All you have to do is grab some of the fluff from a q tip roll it into a thin string and puch it down the inner side of the trigger it help to use a poppy pin to push it down. It might take an attempt or to but eventually it will fit itself between the plastic
of the trigger and the sponge. It will not effect your trigger in anyway itll just make it supper smooth. Iv done it woth over 10 controllers all perfect no issues.

I can attatch pictures if you wanna see how its done. I just wanna help cause i was annoyed by this issue for a good 8 month's

Odd Controller Thumbstick Problem

I have two 360 controllers with this problem. One wired, one wireless.

Basically, I was playing Call of Duty when I realised this problem, when I try to push any of my thumbsticks left or right very softly the controller does not pick any movement. And when I push the thumbstick up or down it is extremely sensitive. Could this
be caused to the thumbsticks not being tight enough? Is there any way to fix this? I do not mind opening the controller up to fix it.

Not that I think anyone should have to repair this. It's obviously a poor choice of materials that is causing the failure. Apparently the plastic piece that is failing in the XB1 controllers, was made of metal in the 360 controllers.

What kind of controller are you using? And how old is it?

Or was it the same problem with both and were they actually new?

I had the very same problem in a used Xbox elite controller I bought. Except that was only on the right thumbstick. On the left thumbstick it moved by itself, in other words it couldn't get to the "zero" zone. It was supposed to only be lightly used and
it looked alright on the outside, but the thumbstick felt like someone had spillt some liquid into it or something.

Needless to say I returned it.

If you are having the issue where, for example, playing call of duty and having turning issues, sprinting issues, or any issues with your thumbsticks, you can open it, clean it, and boom, perfect. If you cannot open it, then click your thumbsticks down,
and exhale air inside the thumbsticks really hard and your thumbsticks should be working perfectly. If you are having sticky buttons, It is your sweat. If it is broken, then you take gears of war way too seriously
