Been using the verizon wireless 5g home internet (the white box) for over 2 months now and have had it hard wired with a cat 8 ethernet cable into my xbox series X and the xbox is one of the only things connected to the router. I have decently reliable download and upload speed but my latency and packet loss both jump around a lot causing most games to be unplayable due to many lag related issues. The latency during speed test will be anywhere from 50 to 100 and packet loss anywhere from 0 to 10, even had it go up to 100% on some speed tests. My in game ping often fluctuates from 30-80 in rapid succession, constantly spiking up and down. causing a lot of in game issues, and i get often in game messages saying i have unstable packet loss. This causes most if not all games to be virtually unplayable, i have changed up my DNS servers to the 5 most used ones(google,open,default, etc..), i have cleared my MAC address and persistent storage multiple times, i have rebooted my router a few times, hard reset my xbox many times, done port forwarding to get open nat type, and even with that had the same issues, I have fully reset my router to factory default even with the same issues to reoccur. Whenever i do speed tests on a laptop or phone, i get 150 downloads and 30 upload and about 30 latency, and I seem to have no issues on those devices and im unsure why it is not the same with my xbox series x. i have tried many different things for consistent connection or even playable connection and nothing seems to be sticking. Not sure what else i can try if anyone has any ideas on what to do with my xbox or my router. I have even used a netgear router and put my verizon router into a modem only and connected to the netgear as a main router and still had similar problems. There are times where connection isn't an issue but that is very far and few between. I would say 95% of the time, in game i have having constant ping spikes, a lot of stuttering, visible ping spikes where character model are skipping around the screen. Its made me use my xbox so much less because of how difficult it is. But i have been trying over the past weeks to figure a way to make the lag and packet loss be fixed but i have run out of things to try, could really use some help.
