How to fix or reset 360 after it shuts it self down bc of ventilation issue.

My xbox360 starts up fine then the power light turns red and blinks after about ten minutes of powered on. On the screen it says that it is powering its self off until the ventilation is cleared.

How can i fix this or reset it after I have cleaned out the three vents it has and cleared all other objects from its immediate way to circulate air?

It could be something internal. The light turns red and turns red in different ways for a various number of reasons. The poor thing may have probably met its end, however, seeing as how Microsoft doesn't service those consoles any more... try GameStop (or
your equivalent to it) or any local game/hobby store as they are bound to have a the guy on hand who could help. The more local places and some chain retailer still sell parts for the 360's as well. You may need a new power brick. Sometimes the ventilation
on those things go out... I had to buy one of those many times.

I'm not exactly sure what can be done since the console isn't supported that much anymore, however, taking it somewhere may be your best and only option for right now.

Which 360 you got original, S or E, because if it is the original I suggest you buy another because not just ventilation issue but mother board issues as well and fixing will cost more than it is worth trust me I know.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums.

I've personally experienced this before with my original white Xbox 360, however in my case it explicitly stated to me that my console shut off due to overheating.

I noticed that when I placed my had behind my console, through the vents I would only feel air coming from one side, but not the other.

My internal fan had failed, however I was unable to set-up a repair for it as Microsoft no longer services these machine.

I'm hoping that this is not the case in your instance. I will include
this that covers the reasons as to why the Xbox 360 will shut off sporadically.

Yes it does. A window comes up and says "The Xbox 360 is shutting down to protect the console from insufficient ventilation. You can turn the console back on after the power light stops flashing".
