HOW TO FIX NEARLY ANY ISSUE WITH YOUR GAME NOT PLAYING PROPERLY

Erase your hard drive and re-install what you want to continue using. Simple as that.

I've run video game stores for more than two decades, and I've had this discussion with my customers almost daily ever since consoles starting using memory cards and hard drives.

Because programming is an imperfect art, nearly every second you're installing, downloading, updating, playing, re-loading, or saving your game, garbage data is likely being written to your hard drive, along with the good data. The bad data acts as a virus,
though it isn't normally actually harmful, and you can easily erase it.

This is what we are doing on Windows when we "defragment" the hard drive. A quick internet search says, "Over time, files on your hard drive get fragmented, and your computer slows down because it has to check multiple places on your drive for those pieces.
To have your computer run more efficiently, use the built-in tool in Windows to defragment those files." For whatever reason, no defragment feature has been made available for game consoles, so these errors and slowdown issues can only be fixed by erasing
the hard drive.

"But all my other games work" - The bad data takes up physical space on the hard drive, in a specific location, so it normally will only affect one game, unless it's sharing resources with another game or app. That's why when you install the next one, it'll
probably work just fine, while the one you're having trouble with will continue to malfunction.

It's like you're riding a bike or driving a car and there's a pothole; the person ahead of you steers right into it and breaks down, while you see the issue and steer around it and keep going. That's probably not the best metaphor, but it's what I've got.

"I just got my system" - It can happen the first time you install anything to your system. It normally doesn't, but it definitely happens, as my customers have told me that once they wiped the hard drive and re-installed, everything worked fine.

"It's not a disc game" - This issue is not a result of reading the disc, but from reading and writing bad data on the hard drive. It doesn't matter where the game came from.

To be clear, if you're having trouble with multiple games, it's less likely, though not unlikely, to be caused by bad data; your laser may be out of alignment so it can't read the disc properly, the hard drive itself may have malfunctioned, or scores of
other issues can happen.

DBZ Xenoverse downloaded but not working properly

I bought xenoverse from the marketplace and it has been completey downloaded for over a day now and I cannot continue in the game with progression because it says "downloading data you cannot progress in game until this download is complete"

Any idea on how to fix this ridiculous issue?

Sorry to hear that you're dealing with this issue concerning Edge.

That does sound like a peculiar issue. Maybe a recent update was interrupted and needs to be redone.

I would suggest trying what we call a soft reset of your console. It's a reset of your console back to factory settings but one that does not uninstall any of your games or apps and is a really good troubleshooting
step for most issues.

Just make sure that before you go ahead with it, that you do know all of the sign-in information for any/all of your accounts(asthey
will be removed) and have easy access to your internet network.

Also make sure that you select the option denoted
reset and keep my games and apps.
