    How to fix my controller from not functioning when it is turned on?


    So when using my controller it stayed on but it stopped functioning on my Xbox. I have tried to reconnect and everything. Then I connected it to my friends Xbox and it functioned. When linking it back to my Xbox it would not function but it would connect fine. Any idea on how to fix this?

    If your controller is functioning correctly to your friend's console, then the problem here must be on your console.

    May I know how is it not working? Does it mean you cannot literally use it or some buttons work and some don't?

    If it's not working at all, try to connect it using a USB cable if it will function.

    You could also try to perform a power cycle. Press and hold Xbox's power button for 10 sec. Unplug the power supply for 30 sec. Plug it back in and turn it on again.

    If you could navigate through the settings, our best option would be to perform a factory reset. There's an option to keep your games and apps. Check the guide here https://support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/...

    Silly me! I suspect the hair trigger locks are not a supported function in GTAV; the controller and game function normally when both hair trigger locks are turned off.

    I was able to get it working but now when I pair my controller to my computer it acts like I’m playing with a keyboard and my controller and my controller won’t function properly. Any idea if there’s a way to fix that?

    I love my Xbox one but

    How about working the same way the 360 does .. having the ability to control the volume of the music separate from the game .. and having the option to unsnap it and not loose a quarter of my screen when listening to music....

    I feel like the Xbox one took a step back with the lack of functionality ..

    Hoping they fix this short coming in future updates .

    Sadly the console or controller has no function that turns off or increases the time the controller can remain on.
