How to fix Metro: Exodus startup problem on Xbox Game Pass

Hey people, I've been enjoying Metro: Exodus for a few days on a new setup on the Xbox Game Pass but today couldn't start it up - ran in to the famous intro video problem. This is apparently
due to DX12 crashing when transitioning from the intro video to the menu.

Long story short: there's a long known fix of just deleting the intro files, but as I made the mistake of using Xbox Game Pass, that seems to be out of the question. Can't access /windowsapps/metro/ folder in any meaningful way - it's "you don't have
permission to view or edit this object's permission settings" all the way. Command prompt tricks are not helping, W10 is smarter than W8.

And yes, Xbox Game Bar and Nvidia Experience overlays are disabled and no, safe mode has no effect.

Are there any ways of doing this without creating a boot disk without Windows and just deleting the files that way and if I go trough all that trouble, can someone confirm that Game Pass launchers don't do some hash checks to check the folder contents? I'm
sure as fecal matter not downloading the 61gb again. This seems like a lot of trouble to fix a known problem.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Unfortunately, there is no way of modifying these files as they are protected. Microsoft has done this for the game pass games, as technically you don't own it, basically leasing it in a way. Only thing we can suggest is
to try and uninstall and reinstall the game see if it helps.

Having the same issue with Metro Exodus. When I initially installed Metro Exodus, I was able to play for maybe a couple of weeks? Then it just stopped working altogether. When you launch it, it shows up in the Task Manager processes though. lol. This
started back in the summer (June/July), and it's still not working..

I am on a limited data allotment per month, and sure as hell not going to keep on downloading the game.. which I've already done 2 times, btw.

Thanks Brad, it looks like Game Pass is just not ready to be an paid product. I can't realistically be expected to download a 61gb game again and again.

The Metro series quests are NOT apart of the Game Pass quests. Metro Exodus is not included in Game Pass, so that quest is not applicable when it comes to completing "Game Pass quest master" quest. I verified this through offical support, and checking
that it does not show up in the applicable quests in the Game Pass app on iOS or Android.

The Metro Exodus quest is just a seperate bonus promoting Metro Exodus, 2033, and Last Light. You do not need to complete it to finish the Game Pass quests.

I also signed up for the xbox beta on PC (Game Pass) and the problem is ... There are no save games in that folder !

I tried with Metro Exodus and the only thing findable is the Metro directory in c:\program files\windowsapps

But there is also no save game ...
