How to fix ethernet

We understand that you're experiencing issues with your Ethernet connection on your Xbox Series X. Let us work on this together in a timely manner.



Firstly, please ensure that your Ethernet cable is securely connected to both your Xbox Series X and your router. If the issue persists, please try the following steps: (you can skip the steps you have done)



1. Restart your Xbox Series X: Press and hold the Xbox button on your controller to open the Power Center. Select "Restart console" and confirm.



2. Check for updates: Make sure your Xbox Series X is up to date with the latest system updates. To check for updates, go to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Console update.



3. Reset your network settings: Go to Settings > General > Network settings > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear. Then restart your Xbox Series X.



4. Check your router settings: Make sure your router is configured to allow your Xbox Series X to connect to the internet. You may need to consult your router's manual or contact your internet service provider for assistance.



5. Try a different Ethernet port on your router: If your router has multiple Ethernet ports, try connecting your Xbox Series X to a different port.

I'm unsure why, but removing the ethernet cable from the console and going wireless solved the problem.
I always had an ethernet cable plugged in and it worked in the past, so I'm not sure why it now causes problems.
My best guess is that maybe the ethernet port is faulty in some way, but I'm not sure how I would go about getting that fixed.

It's okay now. I sorted it my self. I plugged it in by Ethernet and downloaded my profile. Then unplugged it and the network was fixed. It said it was a IP error. Plugging the Ethernet in must have fixed that.

I actually bought the console with the RRoD and fixed it (the previous owner had already opened it), but I don't see how there is no way to fix it, it couldn't have been shorted because I always unplug the Ethernet cord when I am not using it.
