****This applies to the specific problem I was having in that my 360 consoles suddenly stopped connecting to Xbox Live and giving me this error code. My Series X connected just fine and I could log into my 360 profile on my Series X and play 360 games. The problem was specific to the 360 consoles; they connected to the network and the internet but FAILED connecting to Xbox Live.

I hope this helps anyone else who is having this issue because none of the threads/videos I found online helped. Clearing caches, deleting profile, restarting routers and modems, you name it, I tried it all, including port settings.

Most forums I found had dozens with the same issue but no one seemed to have it resolved. In my particular case everything seemed to be working and the issue seemed to be with the 360s themselves connecting to Xbox Live.

I tried using my phone as a hotspot to see if it I got any different results and sure enough I was able to connect to Xbox Live immediately. So the issue was on the end of my internet provider. Something happened that affected only the 360s and prevented them from connecting to Live. I just figured this out so I haven’t called them yet to dig deeper and get a solution. But at least it’s narrowed down to my provider. So if you have this same issue, try a hotspot on a different network and see what happens.

I am now seeing this issue on my wired Xbox 360 when trying to log into Xbox Live or when I try to test the network connection. It detects my network, connects to the internet but when it comes to connecting to Xbox Live it fails. I've tried the above steps (clearing cache, deleting xbox update) and it's still not working. It was working great up until December 9, 2022. On my Series X backcompat titles work just fine and I'm logged in through the 360 emulator on the Series X but I'm trying to play non-backcompat titles on my 360 and can no longer do this. I even read a solution that my profile my be corrupt and to delete it? That seems to have made things worse as now I can't connect to XBL to download my profile. There is something that is preventing my 360 from connecting to XBL or maybe an issue with my modem (Comcast Xfinity/Model:TG4482A Vendor:ARRIS Group, Inc.). I've checked UPnP which is enabled. I've added the Xbox360 port-forwarding ports. Nothing is working. Is my 360 toast? Do I just need to get another one?

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your console. Can you please try the steps below to see if they help?

1. Go to System settings > storage > hard drive. Press Y then clear the cache

2. Go back to Storage. Highlight hard drive and on your remote do the following: X LB RB X LB RB X. Select Yes to delete the Xbox Update. The xbox now restarts.

3. in the meantime, disconnect your router for 1min

4. turn router on again and wait for it to connect to Internet

You should now connect to xbox live. It will ask you to do the update. Do it and the xbox will restart.

Tip! When you clear your Xbox system cache, my recommendation would be to clear the system cache 3 times in a row.
