    How to fix error code 0x80070002 for the Microsoft Store installing Games


    I've had to recently reset/reinstall windows following an issue with file corruption. However, when I've gone to reinstall games from within Store/XBox App, they're beginning the download, then immediately hitting an Error. This is 0x80070002, which, is preventing me from installing any game.
    Store will allow me to install any apps, but will not allow me to install games.

    I have followed instructions that I have found both on here and elsewhere about resetting the Store, repairing the XBox app and many other things, but, this is growing quite frustrating for me now, as it is something I've spent a lot of time and money on, but, now find myself unable to use. I'm not a computer novice, but, this is getting annoying.

    Thanks for the reply and for patiently waiting for our response.

    We noticed that your screenshot has included your email address. To make sure your personal information is well kept for your protection, we cut out the screenshot and post it.

    Though the error code is related about the Xbox Live - Error 0x80070002 occurs while launching or installing a PC game | Xbox Support. Where the recommendation is to wait for a while, then try launching or installing again. Installing the app would take a while.

    So, we would suggest this, on Microsoft Store and search for Microsoft Flight Simulator then launch the game from there. Make sure that the account on Microsoft Store is showing as the same account that acquire the game to match everything.

    Let us know how it went and what error message or code it displays. Please post a screenshot of the issue and conceal any personal information.

    Have you ever figured out what the problem was? I have just installed Halo and when it pulled the game up it gave me an error code: 0x80070002. Why is it doing this and how can it be fixed. It let me sign in to my Microsoft account,
    so why? If there is any answers to this matter please will you inform me on how to fix it because I am lost on what to do to take care of it!

    Jumping in to say I also have the same issue as OP, cannot install any new games from Xbox app or Windows Store. I also receive Error Code 0x80070002 when trying to install a game. This is clearly an issue with the Xbox app, probably a new update as this just started happening within the past week for me.

    Please release a fix/update because the Xbox/Store app is clearly non-functional right now!!!!
