How to fix Easy Anti Cheat 30005. Tried everything

That error can be frustrating, especially after trying all the common fixes. Since you've already tried the basics like reinstalling and verifying files, here are a few additional steps that might help resolve the issue:

Check for Windows Updates

Make sure your Windows OS is fully updated, as certain security updates or system patches might be preventing Easy Anti-Cheat from working properly:

• Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.
  

• Install any available updates, then restart your PC and try again.
  

Disable Antivirus/Firewall Temporarily

Sometimes, antivirus programs or firewalls can block Easy Anti-Cheat or Fortnite. You could try temporarily disabling your antivirus and firewall to see if that resolves the issue.

• Disable your antivirus software temporarily (e.g., Windows Defender, McAfee, Norton, etc.).
  

• Disable Windows Firewall: Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall and turn it off temporarily.
  

Important: Be sure to turn these back on after testing.

Disclaimer: Temporarily turn off real-time Microsoft Defender antivirus protection in Windows Security. However, keep in mind that if you do so, your device may be vulnerable to threats. So please turn it on immediately once issue fixed.  

Check for Corrupted System Files

Corrupted system files can cause issues with Easy Anti-Cheat. You can try using System File Checker (SFC) and DISM tools to fix any underlying problems.

1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator by typing cmd in the Start menu, then right-clicking and selecting Run as Administrator.
   

1. Run the following commands one by one:

sfc /scannow

1. Wait for it to finish scanning and fixing any issues.
   

If SFC doesn't find any issues or doesn't resolve the problem, you can run:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

1. This may take some time, so be patient.
   

1. Once done, restart your computer and try launching Fortnite again.
   

Run Fortnite in Compatibility Mode

Try running Fortnite and the Epic Games Launcher in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows:

• Right-click on the Fortnite.exe or EpicGamesLauncher.exe.
  

• Select Properties > Compatibility.
  

• Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for and choose an earlier version of Windows (e.g., Windows 7 or 8).
  

• Click Apply and then OK, then try launching the game again.
  

Reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat

You mentioned reinstalling the game, but have you tried specifically reinstalling Easy Anti-Cheat?

1. Go to Fortnite's installation folder (usually something like: C:\Program Files\Epic Games\Fortnite).
   

1. Inside that folder, find the EasyAntiCheat folder.
   

1. Run EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe (or reinstall) from there, and choose to repair or reinstall it.
   

After that, try running Fortnite again.

Check for Driver Issues

Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers could also cause problems with the anti-cheat system. Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date:

• For NVIDIA: Use GeForce Experience to update your drivers.
  

• For AMD: Use the AMD Radeon Software to update drivers.
  

• You can also manually download the latest drivers from the official websites if you don't have the software.
  

Perform a Clean Boot

Sometimes background services or programs can interfere with Fortnite and Easy Anti-Cheat. You can try a clean boot to start Windows with minimal services:

1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
   

1. Go to the Services tab, and check Hide all Microsoft services.
   

1. Click Disable All for the remaining services.
   

1. Then, go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
   

1. Disable all startup programs, then close Task Manager.
   

1. Click OK and restart your computer.
   

After the clean boot, try launching Fortnite and see if the issue is fixed. If it works, you'll need to figure out which program or service was causing the issue by enabling them one by one.

Contact Epic Games Support

If none of the above solutions work, it might be time to reach out to Epic Games Support directly:

• Go to the Epic Games Support and submit a support ticket.
  

• Provide as many details as possible, such as the steps you've already taken to fix the issue.

Fortnite should have to come up with an official fix patch or solution for this, and I suggest you gather as much detailed error information as you can and submit it to Epic Support, telling them that this is a common problem and that the anti-cheat program and the game itself need to be checked.

Whats the anti virus called?

Also have you tried going inside the gears 5 directory to access the easy anti cheat program exe? If so do you get an error saying how you do not have privileges to run the program?

Hi there Warder welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I fixed the Anti-Cheat problem like this.

1. Manually download and install Easy Anti-Cheat here: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/guides/s... https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/guides/s...

2. Create a new folder in ProgramFiles (x86) within the drive the game was installed on, called "EasyAntiCheat" and drop the .exe file in there.

NOTE: This is a third party link that is not Microsoft's property, so you might encounter advertising on the website.

i wouldn't ask here as it is not a Microsoft initiative to enable it, halo mcc works fine on Linux apart from normal online due to anticheat, i know the Linux guys have been working with anticheat to get it fully implemented and it looks like they have so won't be long until all the online aspects of the games will work too.

sea of thieves works better on Linux than it does on windows lol. as soon as anticheat and battle eye are all working in proton then i can finally ditch windows.

the future is looking good for Linux distros.
