How to fix being unable to select any drive to store games on?

I am having the same issue. Since the latest Windows update I can't get the Xbox app to see my drives. I deleted the Gaming Services from my Registry and suddenly all my drives can be seen. Like a miracle, but then the Xbox App won't let me play games from Game Pass or allow me to install them because Gaming Services are no longer installed. However, I reinstall Gaming Services and my drives disappear again, which means I still can't install anything new. This is a never ending loop of frustration and someone at Microsoft needs to get on this and fix it instead of expecting the community to fix it for them.

What I've done so far:

Log Out / Log In

Resist / Repair / Uninstall / Reinstall the Xbox App

Reset / Microsoft Store

Run "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" in Win Powershell

Reinstall Gaming Services

Deleted "GamingServices" and "GamingServicesNT" from HKEY_LOCAL-MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\

Reinstall Gaming Services again

Nothing works and this is getting old. This is the second time this kind of **** has happened. Microsoft needs to fix this or stop requiring Gaming Services to use the app and games. I'm already working IT, I don't need my PC to become my second job because some programmers can't figure it out. This is happening too often and to a lot of people. Do a quick search and you'll see years of people saying this is happening.

did you figure out a different work around, nothing is working, im not reinstalling windows

This is the fix!!

If you have deleted the "Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps" and "WindowsApps" folders on other drives even when they're empty and unused. Uninstalling and reinstalling Gaming Services will not help this issue. To fix the problem you need to go into SETTINGS -> SYSTEM -. STORAGE and select "CHANGE WHERE NEW CONTENT IS SAVED" and change where new apps are saved to the drives you removed those folders from.

Check to see your drives are visible again, you can then change the save location back to its original location (usually the C: drive).
