How to fix and see what is wrong with my controller without joy.cpl

My controller constantly tries to go up with the joystick and will not stop. I have tried everything. Joy.CPL? Didn't work. Microsoft Support? didn't work. Heck, I even made sure it wasn't Jam or drift. This has happened to all 4 of my past controllers and I feel it's not an Xbox issue either. I'm so sick and tired of this.

Things to know:

another controller is available, but I can't consistently use it bc it's not mine

I have a mouse but not a keyboard (don't ask)

I use an Xbox 1

out of 4 controllers, I only kept 1 extra wire

I CANNOT use Joy.CPL because...

I use a Chromebook

I literally can't find it

There is something that I don't quite get it.
Is this problem happening with both Xbox 1 console and Chromebook?
Or only with one of the 2 devices?
In any case, is this happening no matter if you connect the controller via cable or bluetooth/wireless?

Also when I type Joy.cpl it does not see my controller either.

Hello Javier,

I uninstalled my xbox driver for win 7 (It was not for win 10 see your post to fix this ) and i let windows update to reinstall the latest driver.

After that if i execute joy.cpl , my xbox controller is not detect.

Run joy.cpl (Start->Run->joy.cpl). If your game supports the interface there it should work as is. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "controller does not recognize game"? It's actually the other way around, the game needs to recognize the controller.

Start->Run->joy.cpl. How many controllers are shown there? It may be worthwhile to send across a snapshot.
