How to download an Xbox app save from the cloud

Hello support!

I've been meaning to download one of my saves from an Xbox app game I used to play (Hades). It seems it has been removed from the Gamepass-offered titles though, so I cannot access the cloud save anymore. I've been searching online and everyone says to have the save downloaded locally you must install the game, but I'm not able to install it since it has been removed from Gamepass! I find it quite confusing that uninstalling a game also removes the local save data from the computer, and removing it from Gamepass then makes it unaccessible. How am I supposed to do this? Is there something am I missing? If not, would you kindly send me my save?

No one can send you your save. It sits on an encrypted server, and the save file is not of any use to you except for playing the Windows Store version of the game. As the game and the save are encrypted, mods are also not an option.

You can purchase the game to access it, but that's it unless it returns to Game Pass

Yes enable cloud saving.

From the xbox 360 go to system, storage, hard drive, games and apps, and then select the file you wish to utilize.

Then select copy and then cloud saved games and it will begin cloud backup.

Once you start the 360 title on Xbox one the cloud saved files should begin to download automatically.

Thanks but the games are using the cloud

I believe you can choose to download the save from the cloud or "use local" when you start it up again after you reset the app.

Otherwise, I can't find any info on how to erase the save on the cloud except overwriting it with a local one after you do the above.

Of you log in to your xbox with the correct account you will be able to download your game saves via the cloud. The game progress is saved to the cloud, provided that the account is the correct account.

While you’re connected to the Xbox network, saved games are automatically stored in the cloud. If you use your Xbox profile to sign in to a different Xbox console, your saves are available from that console.

You dont need xbox live for cloud game saves. If you’re signed up for the Xbox service, you can store your saved games in the cloud,

Hello tjs0911,

If the console hasn't deleted the saves from the cloud yet, you can go to My Games and Apps, highlight the game, and press the Menu button.

Choose to manage the game, and there delete the local save game copy.

If you then start the game, it'll download the saves from the cloud.

If the saves of the game are gone from the cloud as well, then there is currently no way to get them back a gain.
