How to disable screen dimming when watching DVD or Blu-ray

Not sure if this helps or not as it is an older post...not sure there is an option to turn it off completely but:

"Go to Settings, select Preferences, and hit Idle options. Now, uncheck “Show me things when idle.” This should get rid of the idle problem.

I don't have screen dimming on my Xbox One when using Blu-ray or DVD's and I have that option unchecked as recommended."

The thing is sometimes console updates are interrupted slightly in the initial start up and that could lead to little problems with the console running super smoothly. It's best to do a factory reset in some circumstances so that it can redownload all the
updates that the console should have. If you have already installed some games and whatnot, we do have the option on the console to reset and keep your games and apps installed.

If you haven't, give that a shot and let us know how that helps.

As I said in my first post I have messed with the idle settings and they do not fix it.

Also this is a brand new Xbox, why would I need to factory reset it?

If you don't want to do a full console reset (make sure you know your sign-in details first) then you can try removing and reinstalling the Blu-ray app first. Reinstalling apps or resetting the console
are suggested because that sometimes fixes issues that arose due to an unknown system corruption.
