How to deal with a booter/lag switch

Always complete a report under Cheating and explain a little of the exploits that you suspect. I have had messages in the past where action was taken on reports I have made. If possible to report in-game, I would do that also.

I have not done this myself, but if you are worried about your IP being compromised, you may want to research Virtual Private Networks (or VPN's).

XBox is unable to change it. You will have to contact your ISP to change your IP address.

Call them ask for a IP address refresh this will change you IP address.

You can re-boot your cable modem and router this may also change your IP address automatically.

After you reboot check the internet speed and it will show your new IP address, if not refresh IP address then call you ISP to change it.

Report & Block the player:

Tell the Enforcement Team the player game tag

You just need to Block and Report them. That's all you can really do. The enforcement team will address the issue if they need after you have Reported them.

The three posters above me are idiots. His statement is two parts the first about the lag switching and the second about people who dashboard when the game locks in. People do lag switch a lot but recently what I see a lot of is host booting. They flood
your IP with a enormous amount of data packets that leads to you lagging and then eventually getting booted from the game as well as Xbox Live. This has nothing to do with connection. I have an outstanding Internet connection and when I encounter people like
this even I eventually get booted, but then again that depends on the booter they are using. The weaker booters will only lag you while the stronger ones will kick you. There's nothing you can do about this really. If you need someone to play League with shoot

because i am an it technician and a fully qualified network technician, been doing this job for several decades. Microsoft CANNOT SEE A DDOS attack on a user as it is not going through their network, DDOS attacks have been used since the inception of the internet, the original xbox had it, 360 had it, xbox one had it and now series, on psn it happens, on pc too, your are just flooding someone's connection with data, this data is being sent straight to the victim via the internet not via Microsoft networks.
