how to connect beexcellent gaming headset

I know this sounds dumb i got the under $20.00 Beexcellent gaming headset that has console and pc connectors and a usb plug. To connect to the newer white xbox one you just plug in the 3 line 3.5 plug into the controller right? well i did but nothing no
sound at all. The usb plug is when using on pc right? So the headset does not have to be lite up for consols?

Where did the Party Chat Mixer go for Xbox One?

Beexcellent Gaming Headset, the same headset I was using when the option was there before, and (at the time) I was using the same controller when I noticed the option to adjust the party and game volumes was gone.

Edit - I looked at the wrong box and put a different headset than what it actually was.

Sorry for the later reply ive been on vacation. Have you attempted to use a different controller/headset. It could be the headset or the port on your controller is faulty

This is a new headset, the make and model is Beexcellent GM-1. I checked and this supports XBox One

Thank you everyone.

I have done a hard reset and the problem is still there.

I also tried our neighbours controller and it seem to work with theirs - bizarre! Do you still think the Headset adaptor may work? My feelings is to try it as why would 2 controllers stop working one after the other!

The headset is the Beexcellent GM-1 Gaming Headset 3.5mm. It works fine on our other computers (even the mic).
