    How to change the phone number connected to my account that no longer exists


    I’ve had my Xbox for around 7 years when I first set it up my cousin helped me had they used their number to get it set up. I would like to change the phone number and maybe the email but when I want to make any changes it says I need a code, the number that they used no longer exists as they changed their number. I want to change the number for security reasons.

    You can change your security information from this page: [account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional].

    If you are blocked by two-step verification then you would have to go through the 'I do not have this option' prompts that appear when you attempt to sign until you can change your security information and wait 30 days. This is the only way to do it.

    It says my account doesn't exist, as the person probably changed the Email and phone number on it.

    Get a message from Microsoft to tell me they have found unusual activity on my account. I go to login into my account to fix my information. I login with the correct password. They ask for verification via phone number. The phone number I have on file no longer exist so I use the verification form. Fill out the form and says cannot confirm. Rinse and repeat.

    I have already tried this, the thing is that the hacker has changed the email of the account itself into a bunch of gibberish, basically rendering it impossible for me to recover as the account itself is now no longer connected to my email. It simply says my account no longer exists
