    Need some advice. We originally set up my son's xbox account using my outlook.com email address. I'd like to change the email address associated with the account to my son's personal gmail account without losing his gaming progress. Is this possible
    to do? Thanks.

    You can change the primary email address of your account without losing any of your xbox progress.

    Hi LuthugSr,

    AS all these answers are helpful. There is one important note that they have left out. If you do change the primary email to your sons which is totally possible. Do not remove your email from the account. Leave it there as a secondary email.
    If you remove the email from the account completely, you will lose access to the email. For example, if you also use the email for work, and you remove from the account, you cant use for work any longer.

    You can change the primary email address by adding the new one you want to use as the "alias" email. Wait a bit and then switch the alias to the main one. That will free up yours and keep everything as it was.
