    How to change preferred band for Xbox One S


    I currently have an xbox one s and my preferred band for the console is 5G, and I want to change it to 2.4G. Both bands are under the same network and I'm not sure how to change the preferred band for my xbox.

    You have to connect the console to this network as if you were selecting a new network. If both bands have the same SSID you may need to change the SSID of one of the bands to differentiate which is 2.4ghz and 5ghz

    Keep in mind 2.4ghz is crowded because of the limitations of channels

    Cellphone Bluetooth old handsets etc use 2.4ghz

    Nowadays most devices uses wideband 5ghz less prone to obstruction and very adaptable

    If you dont have a self regenerative router then you can use a Wi-Fi analysis app and see how crowded each channel or band is

    Xbox One X Wifi issue ?

    I would first suggest changing your 2.4Ghz broadcast band to 20Mhz instead of "auto" or "20/40Mhz" as the Xboxes prefer 20Mhz. That could be a cause if it's on 40 or switching often because of other devices. This must be changed on your router settings.
    The Xbox One X doesn't prefer channel bonding? Where did you find that analazys?
