    How to change 'Gaming account'

    Dear reader,

After a total PC crash which had me perform a clean wipe, I sheepishly downloaded the Xbox Beta App for PC and registered the wrong account.

Now, whatever I try, I can't seem to change my 'Gaming account that is used for Xbox Live features'. I won't find my games either, not even after trying all the troubleshoot options you provide.

Is there a way to change the 'Gaming account' to the same account as use in the Microsoft Store. And if so, will that be the solution to my troubles.

    Regards,

    Furr

    :)

    How to change 'Gaming account'

    Hi Furr,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to help troubleshoot the issue.

So if I'm understanding correctly, you have two Microsoft Accounts. One you use to sign into Windows and one associated with your Xbox Live content, is that correct?

All Windows apps should use the Microsoft Account you use to log in to Windows by default, but if you want to use a different Microsoft Account with your Xbox Live content, then you will first need to add that account as another user on your Windows 10 device.
You can easily do so from Settings>Accounts>Family & other users>Add someone else to this PC and then type in the login credentials of the second Microsoft account associated to Xbox Live. Once the Microsoft account is added as another user, you should be
able to login to a different account on the Xbox app for PC. Just click on the profile icon in the top right corner to sign out and then just sign in to the second account. Another thing to note is that the Microsoft Account that owns the Xbox Live content
will also need to be signed in to the Microsoft Store to verify the account has ownership to play your games or use subscription services.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I did manage to fix the account issue, but now my games won't show up (see other reaction in this thread by me).

    How to change 'Gaming account'

    Hello MerSauta,

Thank you for your quick reply.

I've gotten to the point where - I believe - I fixed my account issue.

However, when I start the Xbox Console Companion, it does show my achievement for the games that I downloaded, but I can't find the downloaded games.

Perhaps a bit of background information helps:

I've got two SSD drives: A, which has Windows installed and all the necessary apps to boot and run smooth, and B, which has all the downloaded games on it.

During the reinstall of Windows I removed both SSDs and plugged them in. However, it won't find my installed games. I have changed the preferred installation path. Using the 'Add game from your PC' option won't work either.

Perhaps you've got a solution for this as well?

    Thanks in advance.

    How to change 'Gaming account'

    Hello FurOffical!

Thank you for taking the time and posting on the forums. Here's some information about changing accounts in the Xbox
    App for PC
    .

If that doesn't help, try openning up Microsoft Store, click your account image (just right of search) then select the account there and a pop-up box will appear allowing you to sign out. Once signed out, sign back in with the account
that has Gold/Game Pass and that should change store account

    Hope this helps!
