How to change email linked to xbox one.

I want to change the email that is linked to my xbox one. The new email says its already taken ( outlook account, current email is hotmail ). How can we make this happen? From the sounds of it i'd have to totally delete my current account and lose everything in order to make my new email account link up.

With regards to your issue, a gamertag can only be associated on one email address meaning it cannot be changed.

Since the email address you are using on your Xbox account is part of Microsoft domain which is Outlook and Hotmail, once you delete this you wouldn't be able to use it again and all saved contents on the account will also get deleted.

If you wish to change the email address, you may create a new one but it will be a new Xbox profile or gamertag as well. As a fellow gamer I understand what you may feel about this but I would suggest not to delete your email since you will totally lose every record of your account including game saves, digital license purchased from the store such as games.

You have 02 ways to make this change,
01º) You can change the current Gamertag linked to your personal email by another, thus releasing that gamertag to your child.

02º) You can change the email linked to the Gamertag that you want to "preserve", changing the current email to one that belongs to your child.
