How to capture party chat audio in game capture?

Radiate on You · Nov 12, 2020

Hi,

Is there a way to capture the party chat audio on a Xbox series x when recording a video using game capture?

I see that the windows 10 has a setting to capture mic audio but I cannot see this for Xbox console. Any ideas?

Thank you.

To be able to record party chat audio you will need an Elgato or anything external capture card as that will capture any audio on your Xbox (Party, Game, All audio)

You will need an Elgato or anything external capture card as that will capture any audio on your Xbox (Party, Game, All audio) you will have to turn the party chat to speaker and headset. To do this go to, Settings > General > Volume & audio output.

If you using a external game capture like an Elgato you will have to turn the party chat to speaker and headset. To do this go to, Settings > General > Volume & audio output. If you are using the build in capture tools in the console from my testing I
was not able to get it to record party chat as well. But you can try doing the same thing as for a external and see if it works for you.

Hi HeatedZara,

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no native way to add microphone audio to clips and captures through the Xbox. Videos with audio from the Microphone and party chat are usually captures with external capture cards or added in using editing
software.

I hope this answers your question.
