How to buy PC Game Pass for a Child Account

To be clear, this is about Game Pass on the PC, NOT for the Console.

I am trying to purchase game pass for my child, which has their own microsoft account as a child account, linked to my family account where I am the parent/guardian.

When I try to purchase the PC Game Pass on my child's account, it says:

You need an adult in your family to buy this

We can't send a request for this one, so you'll have to ask them another way.

We find saying please tends to work wonders!

I then try to purchase it on my account for them but there doesn't seem to be any option.

I've read in other forum posts here that there is an option to turn off the "ask a parent" feature, but that option doesn't seem to exist for PC Game Pass.

So, how do I purchase PC Game Pass for my child's microsoft account?

My understanding is that, 'ask a parent' option is not available in all regions or all accounts. So, if you don't see it, then, there is no way out.

So, one possible solution might be buy the gamepass for yourself, and use the "family share" option.

It states two options:
* Reaching out to support for assistance with that. https://support.xbox.com/contact-us
* Changing settings: Go to https://account.microsoft.com/family/ select your child, content restrictions, then uncheck "Needs adult approval to buy things". Be sure to recheck after you're done!

Your family settings may require an adult's approval before a child account can make a purchase. If you leave the Ask a parent feature on, you can continue to make sure a child doesn't make a purchase using an adult's credit card, and you can monitor the type of content they want to buy.

If you do choose to turn Ask a parent off, the child account can make purchases without an adult’s approval. If you want to turn this feature off, follow these steps:

Sign in to your Family page with an adult Microsoft account.
Find the child's name and select Content restrictions.
Under the Ask a parent section, switch Needs adult approval to buy things to Off.
If you leave the adult approval option On, you can approve or deny the child's purchase requests through email or on account.microsoft.com/family.

If i understand the problem, you want to buy them both an Xbox Game Pass subscription to play on their respective PC's ? Buy an Xbox Game Pass PC sub for each or a Ultimate Game Pass. Log their account on Xbox beta app on PC and buy them the correct sub.
Or use xbox.com with their account correctly sign in and buy them Xbox Game Pass for PC.
