How many Xbox Elite controllers have you been through?

Just wanting to gauge what everyone's experiences have been like with the Xbox Elite Controller.

I recently sent my original one i purchased for a replacement as it had basically fallen apart after just over a year. 2 Weeks later i received my brand new replacement and was stoked. Was an easy process to go through and just had to put up with a standard
controller in the interim.

Until problems arose again today that is.

I've gone to play for the day to find that now all single button presses are being registered as 2-4 presses at a time, and toggling between control setup 1 and 2 makes the controller practically unusable. The same problem also occurs on the thumbsticks.

I've already spoken to support, and have had another replacement ticket opened up, but will be without the control again for at least another 2 weeks minimum.

What has everyone elses experiences been like dealing with these same issues? I'd expect a lot more out of a controller worth $200 (AUD), and to be sent another controller that is just as, if not more unplayable then the one originally sent in just doesn't
seem good enough to me.

0 because most of the time they are new games i do not own, or i am @ work

I do see there is a Halo 4 night coming up in a few weekends which i might try and get to.

 

I still have my xbox elite controller from two years ago and it works fine

I don’t know a single person that has gotten more than a year without it failing. It’s very overpriced for such poor quality. It’s quite possibly the worst MS product ever produced in regards to quality. The original red ring plagued 360 didn’t even fail
as much.

 

Yeah I tryed to get a replacement but it kept telling me the number to provide in the battery compartment was invalid. I was so ticked off at the fact of it being the worst controller yet to be produced i ripped it apart. My top bummpers broke off then later
the right trigger went hay wire constantly activating on it's own. A class action lawsuit should be filed I say! I bought the Xbox Elite bundle. I miss my controller. I should have sent it in to Microsoft in pieces. Microsoft you need replace mine considering
I couldn't successfully place a order in for repair which by my understanding happens to many who try placing a repair submission online. It just despicable of Microsoft to knowingly sell a flawed product an then have the online system bugged so filing a
claim is a pain. They know the first several sets were flawed. Shame Microsoft! Mine lasted just right over the year mark like 14 months when it was no longer useable the top bumpers fell off around the 9 month mark. And yes I took care of it the best I could.

 

If you contact them through support they will 100% replace it for you. I also could not register it for warranty with the serial number, but it was still well within the 2 year warranty period (That's what is is for me in Australia, Cant speak for wherever
you may be from) and they set up a service ticket for me immediately. Though, from my experience chances are you'll just get sent another faulty one anyway! This one i have got about 10 hours out of it before it started going haywire.

Just get a regular controller. They work better and last much longer for half the price.

 

I got my first Xbox One 4 years ago. That original black controller still works and is still used to today. Handed down to my little brother. I also purchased a Dusk or Dawn controller that same time as well. it also still works and is being used to day.
This is coming from a competitive Halo and Forza player. I will preface this by saying, I take extremely great care of my belongings and things last an oddly long time for me. My Elite controller has lasted the same length as well.

Controllers are kept in a cushioned case when out is use, no hard gripping, straining, or throwing for getting angry, cleaned regularly (with Clorox wipes or microfiber wipe), and no falls at all.

To give another example. I got my first Xbox 360 in 8th grade 9-10 years ago. That Original Xbox 360 Elite still works as well as the controller that cane with it. The only thing wrong is the grip are worn off but thats not an issue.

So yea, everything is golden for me.

Haven't had a problem with mine. I've had it for a year and a half now.

 

I have had 4. Each has had the issue where the grips peel off. Luckily each time it has been covered by warranty

 

I doesn't have an Elite, but my friend use that controller 2 years and had only problem with unsticked grips. Other parts still works fine.

 

I have only used one elite controller. It holds up just fine. I actually gave it to my son and he is still using it. I believe it was bought 3 years ago. I use a regular controller now and I like it.
