As you say in the FAQ, only select members were chosen from the offer. Further down in the Terms and Conditions you reference, the specifications for this selection are listed:

3. How to Receive Offer: During the Offer Period, eligible Xbox Live Rewards members who purchase a season and/or movie from Microsoft Movies & TV that he/she does not own from a participating franchise will receive five thousand (5,000)
Rewards Credits for each season or movie purchased (the “Offer”). Multiple participants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any participant to obtain more than the stated number of Rewards Credits by using multiple/different email
addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that participant's Offer and that participant may be disqualified. The Rewards Credits will be fulfilled within 96 hours of eligible purchase.

Since your previous media purchases were not a part of the participating franchises, you were not selected for this offer.
