    How Long for a Controller Repair?


    Hi,

    Been having no joy in getting my sons Design Lab Xbox controller repaired and returned. It's been 9 weeks since a repair request was submitted, which was amazingly difficult as it loops at the address stage. This had to be done via the support chat and they had difficulty raising a repair. The controller arrived at the repair centre over 8 weeks ago. It was just a trigger button issue that was never right since it was delivered for his Christmas present.

    Trying to contact Microsoft about this has been a nightmare. Any time a Call back is requested, it's not available even though it states it is. It doesn't allow a call back to a mobile number! We don't have a landline. The experts can't answer the question and nothing happens when it's passed onto support.

    The controller is no longer listed in my devices so I can't chase the stage of the repair there. The last communication I got was via email after a Web chat, and they suggested that UPS have received it but it hasn't got to the repair centre, which isn't true as the tracking showed it was received and signed for at the service centre!

    Is this situation common from Microsoft services? I feel that I have been robbed as I have sent the controller to Microsoft and they have deleted its existence and won't update me on what they are doing. I would be happy for a refund so my son can get back to gaming. The other controller suffers from stick drift which is infuriating also, but that is a few years old. Trying to tell a boy of 11 years that the repair will be done in a couple of weeks but is now over 9 weeks without any end in sight is terrible service. Not happy after 20 years of owning xbox consoles

    How long of a process is that? And do they replace the controller or attempt to repair it? As its only had one use I think I would rather a replacement.

    Several controllers need repairs

    They will replace/repair out of warranty controllers so long as they are not Elite controllers.

    Hi JCP,

    Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issue with the grips. How long have you owned the controller? If the controller is over a year old, then you would need to get it replaced as we wouldn't be able to repair it.
