How long do parental permissions take to filter through

Hi.

My son (13) has his own xbox account. He has a small credit balance. He wants to buy a game using the balance and some extra money using his card.

The game requires parental petmission, which i have granted. However, the system wont let him buy the game, but wants me to buy it under my account...but then we wont be able to use the credit balance.

How can we get round this? Do the permissions take a while to filter through???

First, make sure that the account restriction with making purchases is turned off by following the steps on this link.

If all the steps are properly done and it still won't let your son make a purchase then try restarting your console so the changes you made will sync with your account.

18+ generally just means kids can't buy them without parents' permission As long as the parent approves the purchase, the kids can play the games.

You can create a child account and link it to your account as a parent account. This can be very beneficial as you can set rules and limitations for your child so that they require your permission to do things like accept friend requests or change account
info.

Please note that a gold account would have to be purchased for the child account. If the parent account has gold it does not filter down. The parent account does not require a gold account unless the parent wants to do live chat, play multiplayer or use
apps like netflix.

The parental account should give permission to the child account through the privacy settings.

Try accessing your account through the parent account in Settings to see if you can adjust your permissions. This does sound like a permission issue.
