How long do game codes brought on amazon take to expire?

They typically don't have an expiration date. If they do it would be noted on the code itself (if you receive a code) or on the website.

The code should work perfectly fine on the 25th of December

Depending on how long the console has been in the box code do have expiration dates on them. Check to see if the code has expired and if so you will have to pursue this with the retailer which may take a returnof the console if you are that tied to whatever
the code activates.

I would recommend to contact Amazon, it seems that what you've received is an expired code. Expired codes can't be redeemed on your Microsoft Account. To verify the status of the code you can contact

Live Support.

They should be able to let you know if the code is expired or not. If the code is expired, you would have to get back with amazon.
