How does Ark get away with changing an achievements requirements?

With the addition of their Genesis DLC they've made 3 notes from that requirements to unlock a previously unlockable without them achievement. Didn't something similar happen with Destiny and Xbox made them make it available without paying more money?
Having to pay $30 to gather 3 extra notes seems like something Microsoft would totally be against/not allow.

I think adding DLC and adding achievements for that is okay. But to make something from base game to then go ahead and change that to dlc achievement is a little shady.

Im all for new content and opening the door for more achievements but dislike if they change the requirement all together. Kind of reminds me of halo 4 and reach. There were certain dlc achievements, but they also disappeared after time from match making,
making it practicality impossible to get the achievements.

Unfortunately this happens A LOT in the video game world. You kinda just get used to it and accept it lol

Paid for DLC having achievements doesn't bother me, but paid DLC affecting the base game and achievement guidelines should be a big NO. I haven't heard of that before. Its a dodgy way of forcing your hand if you want 1000/1000.

I suppose at the end of the day its the developers that can change how the game works or achievements. Not much we can do about it . 👍
