Before using a custom skin, it must be uploaded to the server. If your skin isn't showing up, there was likely a problem during the upload process. You can check the skins server to confirm it. If your skin isn't there, you will need to re-upload it.

Select Dressing Room. 

Select the character slot you want to edit or a new one. 

Select Edit Character. 

Open the Body or Style tab. 

Find the item in the proper section. 

Click Equip.

How to equip classic skins in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition

If you instead want to use a classic skin from something you purchased in the Marketplace, do the following:

Start Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

Select Dressing Room.

Select the character slot you want to change the skin of or a new one.

Select Classic Skins on the left bar.

Browse through and select the skin you want to use.

Click Equip.

To set your expectations properly, the McDonald's Minecraft skin cannot be used in the Java Edition of the game because the McDonald's skin promotion is exclusively for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft.

Yes when I try to change my skin in Minecraft Java my skin is stuck on the Alex skin but the same skin works for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft . And I have tried using another skin but that too did not work .
