How do you reset the resolution on a Xbox series s without a screen

Hi! My name is Pam. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

I've spotted your question and since it happened to me before, I'd like to share you some steps that helped me when I had this problem.

On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds to turn off the console.

Press and hold the Xbox button and the bind button until you hear a beep to turn on the console. You’ll hear one beep right away and a second beep 10 seconds later. The power light will flash on before the second beep. Don’t let go until the second beep occurs.

In either case, this will boot your console in low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset this setting, press the Xbox button to open the guide. Go to Profile & system > Settings > General > TV & display options, and then select the resolution that you want from the options under Display.

You might also want to test it on a different TV and use a different HDMI Cable.

its will work if i use 120hz on xbox one s ?

Hi, my name is Marvina and I will be happy to help you.

I'm sorry you have this problem. Follow the instructions below for a solution.

Learn about TV resolutions and the resolutions supported by Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One X, and Xbox One S.

The graph represents TV resolutions from 480p to 4K UHD.
    Resolution options
This is what 720p resolution does:
Displays images with a maximum resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

It offers a 16:9 high definition (HD) viewing area.
720p is the lowest resolution on most HDTVs. However, the image is still excellent and for a screen smaller than 37 inches, the quality of the 720p images is practically similar to that of higher resolution televisions. If your HDTV only has 720p and 1080i as options, you should select 720p for the best resolution.

This is what 1080p resolution does:
Displays images with a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
This offers users a 16:9 high definition (HD) viewing area.

1080p is the most common resolution for movies, television, games, and many of the experiences offered by the Xbox. A 1080p TV offers the best picture quality, allowing you to enjoy Blu-ray movies in the resolution they were designed for. Each line of pixels on the screen is redrawn 60 times per second or faster.

This reduces motion blur and creates a sharp image.
Note if you have an Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One S, or Xbox One

    For more information, see:
How to Change TV Screen Settings on Xbox
This is what 1440p resolution does:
Displays images with a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

This offers users a 16:9 high definition (HD) viewing area.
More and more computer monitors have 1440p resolution, which is becoming a very popular option among gamers. It is sometimes listed as "Quad HD" as it offers four times the HD screen resolution of 720p.

Aspects that you should take into account:
You must have an Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One

If you have an Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One S, or Xbox One

    For more information, see:
How to Change TV Screen Settings on Xbox
    Things to keep in mind:
You must have an Xbox One X or an Xbox One S and a 4K TV to use 4K UHD resolution.
Xbox Series X|S also supports 4K refresh rate at 120Hz.

This is what 4K UHD resolution does:
Displays images with a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
This offers users a 16:9 ultra high definition (UHD) viewing area.

With four times the resolution of 1080p HD, 4K Ultra HD delivers the clearest, most realistic video possible. Play games on your Xbox Series X or Xbox One high dynamic range) on your Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One

Black screen after manual override of 120HZ

Hi LIAMSHARMAN! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

If you have an Xbox Series S console, or if your TV doesn’t support HDMI 2.1, you can still enable 120 Hz gaming at a lower resolution. To do this, set your Refresh rate on the TV & display options screen to 120 Hz. If your resolution was previously set to 4K, the console will automatically adjust the resolution to support the 120 Hz refresh rate. Otherwise, select a resolution from the available options.

If you own an Xbox Series S and wish to game in 4K@120Hz, you’ll need to acquire a certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable.

I’m trying to connect my Xbox series s with an HP w2408h monitor

Hi, Andy my name is Oskayra, and will be a pleasure help you

The issue you're encountering is likely due to a compatibility issue between the native resolution of your Xbox Series S and the maximum resolution supported by your HP w2408h monitor.

The Xbox Series S outputs a native resolution of 1920x1080, which is slightly different from the maximum resolution of 1920x1200 supported by your monitor. This mismatch is causing your monitor to display an "input signal out of range" message.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to adjust the output resolution of your Xbox Series S to match the native resolution of your monitor, which is 1920x1080. Here's how to do it:

On your Xbox Series S, navigate to Settings > General > TV & Audio > Video modes.

Under "Resolution," select "1920x1080" from the available options.

Once you've selected the desired resolution, restart your Xbox Series S.

After restarting, your Xbox Series S should output a resolution that is compatible with your HP w2408h monitor, and the "input signal out of range" message should no longer appear.

If you're still having trouble, you can try the following additional steps:

Ensure that your HDMI cable is properly connected to both your Xbox Series S and your monitor.

Try using a different HDMI cable if the one you're using is old or damaged.

Check for any firmware updates for your monitor.

I really hope your problem has been fixed with my help,if this works let me know and have a nice day. Oskayra
