How do you install a new hard drive in the xbox one?

If you mean an internal harddrive, you don't. Self-repair would violate the terms of service and put you at risk for being banned.

Here is a video tutorial on how to install a hard drive in your Xbox 360 Slim. Please check if you have a hard drive in your xbox before buying a transfer cable, because if there is not one there you will not need a transfer cable. If there is one, then
you will need a transfer cable if you want all game saves etc on your new hard drive.

Try accessing your hard drive memory in the xbox menu, if the memory free is displayed in the under the name of your hard drive then it is probably the discs fault. If you think this is the discs fault, try looking on the underside of the disc for any major
scratches. If you do not know how to recognize these scratches, try to install the game on your hard drive by selecting it in your game library. If you get an error during the installation, then your disc is no longer usable and you probably have to get a
new one.

That sounds like a 500GB hard drive, the Original Xbox One had a 500GB drive and that is the same amount.

You can't do the install to the internal flash memory of a 4GB console, USB flash drive or external hard drive, it has to be an Xbox hard drive.
