how do you get funds back from unauthorized purchase on credit card

My credit card was used to make purchases off of Microsoft website, Xbox gaming website with out my knowledge. Tried to go through bank for reimbursement but was denied. I was told to contact Microsoft but didn't know what department since the purchase were made on another account, the hackers account I guess?

Microsoft cant help if the charge didnt come from your own account. Normally to get a refund youd sign into the account the purchase was made from and request a refund but obviously you cant do that if the account isnt yours.

Your bank has to help. Thats the only option in this sort of situation unfortunately. Why did they deny you? If its fraud they have to help.

I don't think you understand how credit cards / debit cards work. Whenenver any sort of transaction takes place whether the company is Microsoft, HP, Dell, any company that uses credit cards or debit cards put "pending transactions" on a card for "pre-authorization"
to check if the card is real and still has funds on it or what not. They are
always returned to you and if for whatever reason your not getting those pending transaction costs back take a look at your billing statements for those cards and contact the bank that you've gotten those cards from as it's their responsibility
to return the "pending" funds back to you.

Most if not all bank's that issue credit cards or debit cards return these $1 payment authorization charges back to you within 3-5 business days, some hold them upwards of 30 days. So no one is "frauding" you out of anything, it's how it works. If you believe
that you didn't make a purchase of some sort contact Microsoft first and speak with them about an unauthorized use ticket, then contact your bank and speak to them about any sort of unauthorized charges. If a charge is being declined then please check the
Microsoft Billing site located here and confirm that your details are correct name/address/phone need to match exactly with the bank of the card that you are using. If that doesn't
work, contact both Microsoft and your bank via phone to make sure that the transactions are fine on their end.

You need a credit card or Paypal in order to purchase backwards compatible content on the One. A debit card would be seen as credit.

Funds from an Xbox gift card will not work on the One, but will work if you make the purchase from a 360 console.

The refund request form is the only way to get a refund. You'll get the funds back however you paid for it. So if you paid with your credit card, it'll go back to your credit card.
