How do you force sync saves to the cloud using Gamepass on PC?

Hello,

I have been having trouble with my saves syncing on my desktop. I am on Windows 11 23H2, with 1GB fiber network connection.

The scenario:

PC uses Gamepass through the Xbox app. Let's say I'm playing Avowed for an hour. I get done playing and exit to my desktop.

I pick up my Steam deck after traveling to a new destination and log in to Xbox Cloud Gaming to stream Avowed. A message pops up saying "Your other device is taking a long time to sync to the cloud. To have us check if the other device has finished syncing, choose "Try Again". Otherwise, you can choose to sync the last data from the cloud, which will cancel the sync from your other device."

At this point, there is plenty of time for my save to have sync. I have even waited hours and still get this message. I have done all of the troubleshooting known to fix this. This includes:

• Making sure the following services were running and restarted: GamingServices, XblAuthManager, XblGameSave, XboxGipSvc, XboxNetApiSvc
  
• Uninstalling and reinstalling the Xbox App
  
• Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
  
• Going into the Packages folder within the AppData folder to delete the saves, run the game/close, add the saves back, and then run the game again, to try and force a sync.
  
• Made a scheduled task to make sure XblGameSave stays running
  

I refuse to format my PC for one piece of software that is behaving incorrectly. There are plenty of reddit forums on this subject that have gone unanswered for years. On behalf of the gaming community, we need an answer to this. Whether the developers can make a visible sync button for us to press or come up with a different type of fix, it needs to be done already. How are you going to advertise a cloud based gaming subscription when the syncing does not work?

Please do not give me a scripted answer. I want a working solution.
