    How do you fix Xbox One controller analog sticks?


    So my controller’s left analog stick when you move it to the edge of the circle, it just stays there and doesn’t snap back to the center. How do I fix this? I’ve already tried blowing into it and taking it apart and using compressed air. What else can I do? Or do I have to just replace the whole thing?

    Hi and thanks for reaching out. I hope you’re doing well. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you and I'll be happy to help you.

    There are a few things you can try to troubleshoot a stuck analog stick on your controller:

    1. Try cleaning the stick and the surrounding area with a dry cloth or cotton swabs. Sometimes dirt or debris can build up around the stick and cause it to become stuck.

    2. Check to see if there is any visible damage to the stick or the surrounding area. If you see any cracks or other damage, the stick may need to be replaced.

    3. Try recalibrating the stick. To do this, go to the "Controller settings" menu in your console's settings and follow the prompts to recalibrate the stick.

    4. Try doing a hard reset on your console. Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers off, unplug the power cord from the back of the console, wait a few minutes, then plug the power cord back in and turn the console on.

    5. If the issue persists after trying these steps, you may need to consider sending it in to have it repaired/replaced.

    Xbox will only replace the controller if it cant be fix. Thats why they repair it and sent it back. There are plenty of videos on youtube showing how to replace the analog stick if you want to do it yourself. Right now you your controller is out of warranty.

    I have had this problem before. It is caused by the springs in the controller being "soft" or having little resistance to the sticks. This is caused by excesive use of the controller's analog sticks. You may fix this by change the whole analog itself, or
    buying a new controller. Buying a new controller would be better and easier.

    I love the PS4 controller. I think the analog sticks for the PS controllers are good. Though so are the Xbox. But I hate how the sticks for xbox controllers go bad really fast.
