How do you fix external hard drive problem?

When i connect my external hard drive into my xbox it shows up the hard drive to connect it then it keeps disconnect and reconnecting my controller. Also it kicks me out of my wifi to where i cant connect the hard drive. Everytime i try to connect it kicks
me out of the connection screen and then it doesnt even read the hard drive

Hi,

Change the usb 3.0 cable (if often that issue).

If with another cable its still not working, try your hard drive on a computer ( if its detected , please delete all partitions of it ) and try it on the xbox. If not detected on your computer, your hard drive is out of order.

Do other games you own that aren't from game pass have the same problem? Do you have an external hard drive. If a game I install to my external hard drive is very laggy I will move it to my internal hard drive which usually fixes the problem.

There is a possibility that there is either a connection issue with your external hard drive or somehow the external drive is corrupted. One possible solution is to uninstall the game and then reinstall the game. Try installing the game on only the internal Xbox hard drive to see if that fixes the problem. Also, try launching other games on your external hard drive to see if how those games are functioning normally.

It's not normal to happen every time, AndresG. There is a problem wherein we will proceed to fix it. Do you have an external hard drive plugged into your console? A corrupted hard drive may cause issues with our Xbox console.
