How do you fix an xbox elite series 2 stick left trigger? Third issue I have had with this...

First off I bought the xbox elite series 2 controller through xbox. I had to turn in my controller twice now. One for the LB Button being sticky and requiring more force to press the button. Second time the A button would sometimes be unresponsive. Now
I am dealing with a sticky left trigger that requires more force to press than the right trigger. My controller is now out of warranty so I will have to be forced to try and fix this myself because it was suggested to me to just buy a new one. Look I have
the original elite controller and besides the grips falling apart I have had no issues. This new controller was slightly more expensive than the elite and now this is the third time I am running into issue with this controller. So if you are looking for a
new controller I would be wary of this series 2 model. If there is any suggestions on how I could fix this issue without having to spend money please let me know.

    :)

How do you fix an xbox elite series 2 stick left trigger? Third issue I have had with this controller.

Similar issue my right bumper has an issue, which I have read other people are having, in which it doesn't always trigger. When I push the bumper nothing happens and it feels like it is pushed, but if I push even harder (way harder than I should need
to) then the button activates. I can sort of now feel 2 distinct levels of pressing on the right bumper and it causes all sorts of deaths in games and such because it's totally unreliable. I too am looking to fix it as I will likely never buy another Elite
controller. V1 the rubber all peeled simply from holding it (the force of holding the controller is enough to break the connectors that hold the rubber on after awhile) on top of a couple other small issues. V2 I've now had a stuck Y button which I was
able to repair, a cap fell off the button toggle on the right (controls how far triggers need to be pushed in) and the RB is a constant source of deaths and problems in games since the connection feels off now. Both controllers pretty much broke after a year
which is not what you want from a controller this expensive.

    Xbox Adaptive Controller profile help

    Hi Beau,

I don't think it's possible at this moment to map the right or left sticks to assign them to specific buttons. What you can do is map clicking in the right stick into press Right Trigger. But the only customization with the sticks are swapping the left and the right, or inverting the Y axis.

I don't personally own the adaptive controller, but trying these settings with the Elite Series 2 controller does not allow me to do so. If there are any more questions, please let me know.

Xbox elite series 2 with design flaw?

I got an Elite series 2 and the first thing I noticed is the A button seems to be harder to push than necessary.

After playing for a bit I also noticed my left stick doesn't rotate smoothly when clicked in I thought maybe this was just my controller so I went to a friend and they also have the same issue with the left stick. I checked out the right stick as well and
although it doesn't feel like its grinding on sandpaper it is also not anywhere close to being a smooth circle. How could this have been looked over?

Clicking in the left and right sticks is essential in many games, how could you make such an awful mistake? If I'm ADS in game I click in my left stick to hold my breath and I use my right stick to crouch and move but if I even try to do it with the elite
2 I just get grinding and uneven movement.

I picked back up the original elite to check the left stick and was surprised as to how smooth it was, it feels as if these new sticks are cheap and not thought out. I appreciate the tension changing but if I have to trade out terrible movement for it I'd
rather just keep my old controller.

Is this something you guys at Microsoft know about? Every time I pick up the controller now It genuinely annoys me that I can't use my sticks. I didn't expect to spend 180$ for something that doesn't function on the most basic of levels. I have to wait a
week to play as well because my original elite has insane stick drift so I have to send it in for the 3rd time this year for the same issue.

(I know the A button being bad is common I want to know if everyone has the issue with the left stick grind. This was my main issue with the controller it made it impossible to aim, click in the left stick and move it around in a circle.)
I'm now on my 3rd elite series 2 from gamestop. The first one i was having issues with some of the buttons i had drift a few times so i returned it for another. Had similar issues with the second one so i returned it again. Both of the first controllers
had left stocks that were perfectly fine with the movement but now on my third controller i have the left stick that does feel harder to move around it doesn't move smoothly at all and i get that grinding feeling when i go to move it in a circular motion.
Not really sure what to do at this point. I mean the controller is great i want to love it I just can't believe such an expensive highly anticipated piece of hardware has this many issues. It also seems like the issues with these controllers are getting harder
to search for online. Im surprised i found such a new thread about it.

why is my left stick spinning freely?

    Hello Chillwill882986,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community. I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Elite series 2 custom controller. It sounds like the left thumb stick is not properly secured and it is causing you trouble when playing games.

The left thumb stick of the Elite series 2 controller is designed to be adjustable, so you can change the tension and height according to your preference. However, it should not unscrew or spin freely when you are using it. This could indicate that the thumb stick is defective or damaged.

To fix this issue, please follow these steps:

    - Turn off your controller and remove the batteries.

    - Gently pull the left thumb stick out of the controller. You may need to use a small tool like a tweezer to do this.

    - Check the bottom of the thumb stick and the socket on the controller for any signs of wear or damage. If you see any, please contact Xbox Support for a replacement or repair.

    - If there is no visible damage, align the thumb stick with the socket and push it firmly until it clicks into place. You should feel some resistance when you do this.

    - Screw the thumb stick clockwise until it reaches your desired tension and height. Do not over-tighten it or force it beyond its limit.

    - Put the batteries back in and turn on your controller. Test the thumb stick in a game and see if it works properly.
